Pre-order your .Foo domain

We'll let you know when you can reserve and register your own dot Foo domain name.

A domain extension for geeks

The .FOO top-level domain will provide the marketplace with direct association to the term, ʺfoo.ʺ Its mission is to offer a dedicated internet namespace in which domain owners can purchase domains that relate to web development and⁄or act as a repository for prototyping and beta sites. Register your interest in this upcoming web address alternative today!

Important information

This pre-order is simply an expression of interest and does not secure your desired domain name:

  • Because others may be seeking the same domain name, we cannot guarantee your pre-order registration.
  • All domains ordered by multiple customers will go through an internal lottery once the pre-registration period is over.
  • If your order is selected by iwantmyname, it will then be submitted against all other domain registrars who may be after the same domain.
  • For some of the more popular requests, it will take a bit of luck, but rest assured, we will do our very best to secure your requested domain for you.

What is the .FOO domain extension?

It's a new generic top-level domain (gTLD) which will be released by the internet's governing body ICANN as one of the many domain alternatives to the existing .COM, .NET or .ORG suffixes.

When can I buy a .FOO web address?

There is no exact launch date yet. We hope registrations to begin in 2015, subject to approval by ICANN. You can pre-order domains at iwantmyname before launch and we will attempt to register them as soon as the registry opens.

How much will it cost?

No price available at this stage. Our .FOO domain pricing will be announced closer to the Sunrise (for trademark owners) and Landrush (general availability) periods.
