My.tel 2.0 iPhone App Now Integrates With DomainApp

Telnic recently launched an improved version of My.tel, a free iPhone application for managing your .TEL domain names from your mobile phone and which integrates directly with the iWantMyName DomainApp. Simply update your .TEL domain before boarding a plane, on a road trip, or whenever you need to tell people how they can reach you. You can even publish your location with an embedded map.

New features of My.tel 2.0 include:

  • Complete domain management capabilities: anything you can do in your .TEL hosting panel is now possible with the iPhone application
  • Improved usability: new navigation and editing interfaces
  • Multi-domain capable: Manage multiple domains at once

Look for the built-in "buy a .tel" link to purchase new domains directly from your iPhone. Both the My.tel and our DomainApp can be downloaded for free on the iTunes App Store.

New Domain Search Feature: Check Domains via Twitter

In addition to being Apple geeks, we're also big suckers for simplicity and productivity at iWantMyName. So we thought: why not offer a domain search feature for a service where we spend lots of time anyway? Hence the concept of our iWantMyName Twitter Search Bot was born.

As of today you're able to check domain name availability by sending a direct message to the @iwantmyname Twitter account. Just start following us, send "d iwantmyname thedomainyouwant.com" and we'll reply with the search result including a link to immediately register the domain:

Search for alternatives if a domain is taken:

Immediately register the domain if it's available:

So whenever you think "I want my name" just open the Twitter client of your choice and off you go!

Manage your .TEL domain with the My.tel iPhone app

The official .TEL iPhone application is available in the AppStore now. It offers an easy interface for all .TEL owners to update their domains directly from their iPhone or iPod touch. You could update the status before boarding a plane, on a road trip (don't forget our DomainApp to register domains) or just with your current location to tell your friends where you are.

The main features of My.tel are:

  • Add, remove, hide or show your contact information
  • Update your status
  • Publish your location with an embedded map
  • Add or remove folders and profiles
  • Manage privacy settings
  • Add or remove keywords

The app works pretty well and especially the map feature helps to share your current location with your friends. Imagine being at this cool party (we all know how difficult to find they can be sometimes) and you could tell your mates: "Just go to my .TEL domain if you want to come by".
